What has changed?
+
Citibank, N.A., Bangkok Branch (“Citi”) reached an agreement to sell its Consumer Banking Business to United Overseas Bank (Thai) Public Company Limited (“UOB”) on 14 January 2022 (the “Transfer”). The Transfer has been effective as of 1 November 2022 (“Transfer Date”). UOB is now the provider of your products and services. Citi is providing certain services with respect to those products.

This means that you are bound by the terms and conditions under the relevant Citi’s product and/or service agreements with UOB. Any responsibility with respect to such relevant product and/or service agreements will be between you and UOB.
When will the migration be completed?
+
The migration will happen tentatively during the second quarter 2024, where the Bank will notify you at least 30 days in advance of the exact date.
Does the customer have to do anything at this point of time?
+
You do not need to take any action at the moment. You can continue to use Citi's products and services as usual including Citi Credit Card(s), Citi Ready Credit, branch services at the Interchange 21 (Asoke), The Crystal and Central World, ATMs, Citi Mobile® Application, Citibank Online, and CitiPhone Banking 1588 until further notice by UOB.
When did UOB take over the Citi consumer banking business in Thailand?

+
UOB is going to review the current products and services it provides (including Citi’s products and services which it has acquired) and as a part of this exercise, UOB may make further changes and/or issue new UOB products and services to relevant customers. If there is any change in the future, you will be notified in advance.

Branding
Why do I still see the word “Citi"?
+
UOB has taken over Citi’s relevant products and services which still carry the “Citi” brand, or use the word “Citi”, “Citibank” or similar words in the product and service name, as Citi will grant a transitional license to UOB to use the Citi brand on selected products and services for a transitional period after the Transfer Date and until further notice (i.e. the trademarks “Citi”, “Citibank”, “Citigroup”, the Arc design and all similar trademarks and derivations thereof are used temporarily under licence by UOB entities from Citigroup Inc.).

Even though the “Citi” name or brand is being used by UOB, from the Transfer Date, UOB is the issuer of the “Citi” branded consumer banking products and/or services in Thailand. Citi is merely providing certain services with respect to those products and services. You are a UOB customer and any reference to “Citibank, N.A. Bangkok Branch”, “Citibank” or “Citi” in relation to Citi’s product and/or service documents and/or agreements shall be construed as a reference to Citi acting on behalf of UOB in all respects.

You can continue to use your current Citi products and services as taken over by UOB as usual, such as the use of Citi Credit Card(s), Citi Ready Credit, branch services at the Interchange 21 (Asoke), The Crystal and Central World, ATMs, Citi Mobile® Application, Citibank Online, and CitiPhone Banking 1588 until further advance notice of any change by UOB.
