From 17 November 2024 onwards, the maximum personal accident coverage of UOB V Care Savings Account, from currently 10 times the deposit balance as of one day prior to the accident, for up to 10 million baht/person, will be doubled for up to 20 million baht/person. The other account terms and conditions will remain unchanged.

The account holder will receive a coverage of accident insurance

Personal Accident insurance (PA) Type 2 entitlements. The coverage is due to loss of life, dismemberment, loss of sight, loss of speech, loss of hearing or total permanent disability from an accident, murder, or assault, but not covering medical expenses.

Detail and Condition of PA Coverage

  • The account holder must have a balance at least 10,000 baht one day prior to the accident date.
  • Coverage starts from the account opening date and ends when the account is closed.
  • Coverage will end when the insured lacks any of the qualifications as specified in the conditions.
  • The account holder may specify the beneficiary’s name in the account opening form.
  • Insurance premiums are paid by the Bank while the account holder is the insured. This coverage is under the group non-life insurance policy of UOB V Care Account. Thaivivat Insurance Public Company Limited is the insurer under the terms of coverage and benefits according to conditions.

Detail and Condition of PA Coverage

  • The account holder will be covered in the amount of 10 times of the deposit balance in the account 1 day before the accident date, maximum coverage of 20 million baht per person regardless of the number of UOB V Care accounts that the account holder holds. The account holder who is over 70 years old at the account opening date will receive compensation 70% of the coverage amount.
  • Condition of compensation payment:
    • Loss of Life received compensation 100% of coverage amount.
    • Dismemberment, Loss of Sight, Loss of hearing or speech received compensation 1-60% of coverage amount according to the coverage provided in PA2.
    • n case of Total Permanent Disability received compensation 100% of coverage amount. For Partial Permanent Disability received compensation 50% of coverage amount.
  • If the account holder has more than one UOB V Care Savings account, the coverage amount will be calculated from the account with a deposit balance of 10,000 baht or higher of all accounts combined. The maximum coverage amount will not exceed 20,000,000 baht per person.
  • For a joint account which does not specify allocation of benefits for each account holder, the PA coverage proportion for each owner will be calculated by dividing the account balance with minimum balance of 10,000 baht, by the number of joint account holders. The PA insurance coverage of each owner will be 10 times of such proportion but limited to 20 million baht per account.

  • Minimum amount for account opening is 1,000 baht.
  • For Individual customer who is 15 years or older on the date of account opening.
  • Can open as a single account or a joint account.
  • Limited to 1 account per person, whether it is a single account or joint account.
  • In case of account "For", the protection is for the person whose name precedes the word "For". And for account "By", the protection is for the person whose name is after the word "By".
  • Copy of ID card
  • Dormant Account is the account with no deposit, withdrawal, transfer, or payment transaction over 12 consecutive months, excluding automated transaction e.g. Auto Direct Debit. When the account becomes dormant, customer will not be able to perform any transactions on the account.

  • Additional fees of deposit/ withdrawal/ out-of-region transfer transaction may apply. Please find more information at the bank’s website or announcement announced at the bank’s branches.
  • The interest rate and terms are as announced by the Bank.
  • The value of insurance premium is equivalent to an increased annual interest rate of 0.042% (as of 17 November 2024).
  • The Bank reserves the right to cancel or change a benefit with prior notice before changing.
  • Withholding interest income tax is in accordance with the regulations of the Revenue Department.
  • The deposits are under the protection of the laws regarding the Deposit Protection Agency as per the amount and conditions stipulated therein.

  • In the event that the assured dies, the insurance company will deliver the cheque to the address of the claimant as provided on the claim form.
