From 17 November 2024 onwards, the maximum personal accident coverage of UOB V Care Savings Account, from currently 10 times the deposit balance as of one day prior to the accident, for up to 10 million baht/person, will be doubled for up to 20 million baht/person. The other account terms and conditions will remain unchanged.

  • The account holder will be entitled to personal accident insurance, coverage for loss or damage caused by bodily injury, accident, resulting in death, dismemberment, loss of sight, loss of hearing, Loss of speech or total permanent disability (Personal Accident 2), but not including motorcycle riding or passenger and not including medical expenses.
Terms and Conditions UOB V Care Savings Account
  • Open an account with a minimum of 1,000 baht.
  • The account holder will receive the amount of accident insurance coverage according to the policy terms as follows.
    • The account holder must have a balance at 10,000 baht or higher one day prior to the accident date.
    • The account holder will receive the coverage amount at 10 times of the deposit balance one day before the accident date, but not more than 10,000,000 baht per person, regardless of the number of UOB V Care accounts held.
    • The account holder who is over 70 years old at the account opening date will receive compensation 70% of the coverage amount, but not exceeding 7,000,000 baht per person.
  • The account holder may specify the beneficiary’s name in the account opening form.
  • The interest rate and terms are as announced by the Bank.
  • This deposit is protected by the Deposit Protection Agency in the amount stipulated by law.
  • The value of insurance premiums is equivalent to the interest rate that increases approximately 0.15% per year as of 17 November 2020.
  • The bank reserves the right to cancel or change a benefit with prior notice before changing.
  • The Bank pays insurance premiums. The account holder is the insured person and the account holder has the right to designate a third person or the self as the beneficiary under the group accident insurance policy, UOB V Care Savings account.  Thaivivat Insurance Public Company Limited is the insurer and will take responsibility under the terms of coverage and benefits according to conditions.
  • If the account holder has more than one UOB V Care Savings account, the coverage amount will be calculated from the account with a deposit balance of 10,000 baht or higher of all accounts combined. The maximum coverage amount will not exceed 10,000,000 baht per person.
  • For opening a joint account by using more than one joint name and not specifying the proportion of benefits to be received by each person, the coverage amount will be calculated from the account with a deposit balance of 10,000 baht or higher divided by the number of joint account holders. Each person will be compensated in the amount of 10 times the proportion of each person calculated from division by the number of joint deposit account holders against the coverage amount but not more than 10,000,000 baht per account, regardless of the number of joint account holders.
  • Claim for compensation is filing at the account opening branch by preparing claim document. (Please check documents for claiming and details of the coverage terms.)
  • About the deposit account that has been inactive for more than 1 year and has a deposit balance of less than 5,000 baht, the Bank will charge 100 baht/month per 1 account for account maintenance as announced on 1 October 2018. You can view details of various fees related to deposits from the Bank's website by clicking or notice posted at every branch of the Bank.
