United Overseas Bank (Thai) (UOB (Thai)) has won a total of three awards, the most awards among Thailand’s foreign banks, at the recent The Asian Banker Excellence in Retail Financial Services Thailand Country Awards 2019. The Best Foreign Retail Bank in Thailand, Best Frictionless Customer Experience and Best Biometrics Initiative awards recognise UOB (Thai)’s unwavering commitment to harnessing technology to make banking simpler, smarter and safer for its customers.

 

UOB (Thai) was named Best Foreign Retail Bank in Thailand for the fifth consecutive year in recognition of its focus on providing financial solutions essential to the lifestyles and life stages of consumers. The Bank was also awarded Best Frictionless Customer Experience for its branch transformation initiative launched in 2018 to meet customers’ changing lifestyles and needs.

 

Following the launch of TMRW, ASEAN’s first mobile-only bank for the region’s digital generation, UOB (Thai) also received the Best Biometrics Initiative award. UOB (Thai) is the first bank in Thailand to use fingerprints to enable new customers to open an account in less than ten minutes, removing the need for customers to visit a branch to open an account.

 

The Asian Banker Excellence in Retail Financial Services Awards recognises banks whose products, services and solutions make banking better for customers.
