UOB organised its annual UOB Heartbeat Run/Walk for charity in 5 countries
with total amount raised more than THB 16 million
United Overseas Bank (Thai) Public Company Limited, recently held a painting workshop for Thai youth talents to develop their skills for regional competition. The activity was conducted as part of “The 3rd UOB Painting of the Year ”, the regional contest of UOB Group held this year with a total value of prizes worth THB 600,000. The workshop, held to promote greater interest in art and to encourage young Thai artists in their creative endeavours, was presided by Mrs. Busba Virochpoka, Executive Director, Country Head of Brand Performance and Corporate Communications of UOB (Thai). A special talk on painting philosophy by Prof. Preecha Taothong , Thai National Artist was shared to the youth participants. UOB Group plays an active role in the community, focusing on arts, children and education (ACE). It has organised the prestigious UOB Painting of The Year Competition and Exhibition in Singapore since 1982. For Thailand, the project has been organised since 2010.
“UOB Heartbeat Run/Walk” is one of UOB Group’s annual charity event. This year is the first time that the activities have been held concurrently in five countries across the region namely Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and China. More than in total 10,000 staff members have participated in the events to raise funds for underprivileged children. The project has raised in total 830,000 Singaporean dollars or 20 million Thai baht.
